Loving & Loathing.

Happy Saturday, friends!

Here are a few things that I am currently loving & loathing. Enjoy!!

Loving: Old Navy is seriously bringing it this year with their clothes. I'm not usually a fan, but I can't seem to stay away! I'm loving this vest and these sweaters! (They are currently having a 20% off sale, so go stock up! )Now, I just need the weather to get cooler so I don't look like a jackass wearing sweaters and vests in 90 degree weather. Which brings me to...

Loathing: the back and forth weather that Florida is currently experiencing. Wednesday it was chilly outside (75 degrees & raining)..... Thursday was sweltering! I just can't.....

Loving: trying new foods with Abigail. She is one stubborn babe though. She is not loving anything yet. And she isn't really down with the whole food not coming out of a bottle thing but we are trying avocados today so maybe we will have some luck.

Seriously, by the end I was literally spooning food onto her pacifier and shoving it in her mouth. HA!

Loathing: the fact that lovebugs are apparently attracted to the smell of cinnamon. I decorated our porch for fall and put out a vase filled with cinnamon scented pine cones.....24 hours later, my porch was INFESTED with lovebugs. And we also had bears in the yard that night which I can only assume was connected. Cinnamon fail.

Loving: Hello Apparel and Camp Brand Goods. Seriously, both of these brands are so cute and I can't wait to stock up mine and my mini's closest with all of their things!!

Loving: Moccasins. Especially on my babes feet. Now to find a matching pair for myself.....

Our Weekend In Pictures.

It's been a pretty laid back, uneventful weekend over here. We have had a house full of sickos with a nasty cold circulating. I can't remember the last time I took liquid NyQuil, but billy swears by it so I put my big girl britches on, grabbed my nose plug and chugged a capful like I was throwing back a cold one. I remember now why I don't take it.... Because it takes like shit. But it seems to have done the trick because I almost feel human again. And now we wait.... We wait for the next sickness to hit the Huff household courtesy of germ city aka daycare.

And now, a few pictures from our weekend:

Saturday morning soccer game (Nathan did AWESOME!):

Saturday afternoon we decided to give solids a try... We decided to skip the rice cereal because it doesn't really have any nutritional value. We gave her the baby food version of quinoa... Jury is still out on whether she liked it, but she was so cute trying to eat it. I'm excited to start new foods each week!

Billy being the amazing husband that he is, knew that mama needed a baby break. So saturday night, he took on daddy/uncle billy duties and watched Abs and Nathan while me and my sister got our hibachi on.

I decided that I was going to make fall happen. Even though I was wearing my fall boots with a skirt and tank top, I just couldn't stand to let them sit in my closet any longer.

Mama was thirsty:

We ended our night by going to Peterbrooke, home of the chocolate covered popcorn ;) I didn't get anything for myself since I'm not a huge chocolate lover (I know, who am I?!) but I brought home some presents for Billy in the form of white chocolate covered Oreos and Peanut butter crackers. He was a happy camper.

Oh! And we also got an up close look at the new Sun Rail that is hitting Central Florida in the Spring of 2014. They were doing tours of it, but we just snapped a few pictures while we were walking by. It looks really nice.... Sure to be destroyed in day 2 of operation. Keep it classy, Orlando!

I spent Sunday (THE FIRST DAY OF FALL!!!) finishing up some decorating around the house. I love decorating for fall because if you chose the right decorations, you can keep them up September-November!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Let's all send some fall vibes to the weather gods and wish these 100 degree days away!!

5,4,3,2,1.....

Five things I'll be doing over the next week: 1. Getting my hibachi on at Kobe tonight. I may not be able to taste it because I've been so sick this week, but it's not going to stop me from face planting into a tub of white sauce. 2. Starting Abigail on solids! We finally got the go ahead from her doc & I can't wait! Stay tuned for a ridiculous amount of pictures and videos of food all over my kid and kitchen!! 3. Praying for cooler weather. Seriously, the heat is getting stupid. I have boots, scarves and sweaters begging to be worn! 4. Reorganizing my kitchen cabinets. Yikes, how old could I possibly sound?! But they are a hot mess. I grab one pot and 13 of them come crashing to the ground. 5. Cleaning out my closet. I'm on a serious cleaning binge lately. I can't even walk in my walk-in closet. My shoes, clothes and purses have taken over. I think it's time for an intervention.
Four items that I need to purchase: 1. Patio furniture... We don't have any. And we need some, bad. I have big dreams of eating breakfast/lunch/dinner on our patio in the fall. 2. A fence for our backyard. The bear situation is getting a little out of control. 3. Groceries. Toast for every meal of the day is becoming unacceptable. Delicious, but unacceptable. 4. Something to go on my dining room wall. I've been doing some decorating have moved a bunch of stuff around, which left me with a bare wall in my dining room. I have my eye on a huge mirror though. Just need to buy it!

Three shows I can't wait to have come back into my life: 1. Revenge 2. Greys Anatomy 3. Parenthood  ... Also, I know this doesn't count, but it does fall under a tv show but. I decided to start watching Prison Break on Netflix....& after one episode is was completely addicted. I finished the damn SERIES in a week!! It was SUCH a good show and I feel like a piece of me is missing now that I'm finished. Please feel free to judge me and call me lame for that last sentence. However, if you never watched it, please do. I  now feel fully capable of breaking someone out of jail if I'm needed.
Two reasons I'm excited for fall: 1. Not feeling like I have to take a shower every time I walk from my front door to my car. 2. The moccasins I purchased for Abigail the other day. I can not wait to get her toes in them!
One thing that's currently bothering me: 1. If you follow me on Facebook, this won't come as that much of a surprise, but something that is REALLY bothering me.... LOVEBUGS. they are THE most infuriating creature. I shit you not, they are everywhere. In my car, smashed on the front of my car, in my house, down my shirt, on my child... Everywhere I look, more LOVEBUGS!! Once again, FALL..... Where are you?!?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

Our Disney Trip in Pictures

I was pretty convinced that taking a 4 month old to Disney World in September (which in Florida, it’s still 134 degrees out) was the fastest way to get me sent to a mental hospital. Turns out, I was only partially right.
Nathan decided for his 5th birthday, he didn’t want a party. He just wanted to go to Disney World for the day and to eat breakfast with all of the characters. So that’s what we did.

Saturday, we woke up at the ass crack of dawn (6am & also, what a weird expression) and attempted to pack up for a day at Disney World. Trying to remember everything you might need for your infant is damn near impossible. But I’m happy to say that we didn’t forget anything!

We will call this picture ‘I’m going to DISNEY WORLD!’:

Breakfast with the characters was fun. Nathan loved it! And a buffet breakfast is RIGHT up my alley. The only thing missing was a mimosa. But Magic Kingdom is a dry one, which makes this mama SAD!

Our waitress was so sweet and brought out a cupcake and a card signed by all of the characters for Nathan!

It was nice having a lot of people with us, we all took turns sitting rides out to watch the babe.

Billy got to try out his baby carrier : )

And I took Nathan on the bumper car track.

The most stressful part of the day was making sure Abs stayed cool enough. She was in her stroller for most of the day with it completely covered and a fan going the entire time. That kept her pretty cool. But towards the end of the day, we had to keep dumping wet paper towels all over her because we were nervous that it was just too hot out.

I am dying for some cooler weather! A 100 degree Thanksgiving does NOT sound appealing.

And I’ll leave you with one picture that sums up our Sunday perfectly….

Happy Tuesday!!

Four Month Old!

We have a four month old! It seems like just yesterday I was screaming bloody murder, begging anyone I saw to stick a needle in my back and get the damn kid out of me…. in the nicest way possible, of course.

This month seemed a bit trickier than month 3. We had some sleeping trouble, but we chalked it up to teething and not swaddling any more. She was so dependent on the swaddle at night, so when we left her to roam free around her crib at night, she had a rough time. We didn’t really have a choice; she started completely turning over on her belly whenever she could. She is back to being a really great sleeper, with the occasional wake up because she has a hard time flipping back over to her back once she is on her belly in the middle of the night.
We have been really excited to get her to her four month doctor’s appointment and get the go ahead to start her on solids BUT little miss sassy pants had other plans. We are fighting a stomach virus right now, so she wasn’t able to go to her 4 month shot/well visit appointment. We are currently on a Pedialyte & probiotic supplement diet until she is all fixed up and then the fun begins!
Abigail loves her jumper! Which is great because we had to get rid of her other favorite contraption, her swing. She almost fell out of it one night, she is too much of a chunk to buckle her, so it went straight into the garage that night and never came back out.

She is developing such a personality and it is so exciting to see her change every single day. She is discovering the world right in front of our eyes and we couldn’t love her more!!

Some outtakes…. I think I take 30 pictures just to get ONE good one, haha!

falling into fall...(head first)

So here's the deal, it's September. The cinnamon broomsticks & adult onsies are OUT. & every other Facebook status and/or tweet has SOMETHING to do with football. It is officially Fall! Ok, it's not 'official' as far as the calendar goes, but in my eyes it is!
& I have a 'fall' confession.... I don't like Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I don't like Pumpkin Spice ANYTHING. I don't get it. Never will. & I'd rather have a big ass hot chocolate topped with whipped cream from the Bux instead. Whew... I'm glad I got that off my chest.

Fall hit our house about a week ago. It started with an innocent vase filled with pinecones and pumpkins and now I'm already planning mine and A's Halloween costumes.

Here are some of the things I am MOST excited to get in my house for Fall.

#1: Tribal print leggings. I think these would be SO cute with some boots & a scarf.
#2: Baby flats. I need to cover up those toes once it actually starts to get cool....white and blue stripes? I die.
#3: Hello Apparel onsie. I love it!

#4: I bought these boots a few weeks ago. It is still too hot to wear them (I did once, yikes!) but they are amazing!!
#5: Pumpkin PJ's. I already bought these too. Taking A's picture in them was a big ole fail. I'll try again soon.
#6: THIS SCARF! (all scarves, really).
#7: Ok, ignore the pumpkin scent. But fall flavored (yes, flavored) candles.... air fresheners...broomsticks.

I am SO excited for the weather to get cooler and the endless possibilities that are floating around in my head in regards to Abigail's wardrobe.

If you want links to any of these items, leave a comment below and I'll get it for you!

Happy Tuesday!

Another Weekend in Pictures.

You know, just when I thought we were really figuring out this whole parenting thing and really getting the hang of it, my daughter decides to scream bloody murder for 3 hours on a Sunday night... just to make sure WE know who is REALLY in charge around here. Got it, LOUD AND CLEAR. 10-4.

Beer Me.

I had every intention of posting over the weekend. I have a ‘Fall’ post waiting to be written. Picture collages complete, I just need to jot down a few words. But A had very different plans. Which included: Not napping & making Mama play with her for every second of the day…. Even when she was exhausted and screaming her head off. It’s a good thing she is so damn cute. Even her cries make me laugh.

So as a result, you get another episode of ‘Our Weekend in Pictures’.

Friday night the entire family went out to dinner at Olive Garden. I ate about 14 breadsticks and would have put a straw in the Alfredo dipping sauce if I could have found an extra one.
We are obviously easily amused and decided to entertain ourselves while waiting for more breadsticks our dinner to come out:
We will chalk this one up to being hungry and delirious. (weweren’t that hungry. see: breadsticks)

Billy had to work on Saturday so we thought we would spend the morning in our PJ’s cuddling with our babe…..

BUT, for whatever reason, we got a burst of energy and decided going for a run would be a better use of our time. However, I think the thought of getting the next picture was the motivation I needed to strap on my neon nikes.

Billy went off to work, and off we went over to Nana and Grampy’s house. Little babe fell asleep on the way there, and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture this new sleeping position she has been rocking. How is this comfortable?!

We headed off to Nathans first soccer practice of the season. Which I think was on the hottest day of the year, plus the start of love bug season. He looked cute & so did my child so I suppose it was a win…… a sweaty one.

Saturday night turned into a VERY intense game of Domino’s with my parents and grandparents. They were out for BLOOD! & I loved every minute of it : )

I have ZERO pictures from Sunday. We went to Blizzard Beach and I accidentally left my phone at home. Which is surprisingsince it is typically super glued to my hand. But I actually LOVED not having it. It was a nice break. So, you don’t get to see any cute pictures of my baby in a bathing suit or any of the delicious frozen cocktails that I consumed. The only thing I REALLY wish I had a picture of was the man’s facial expression when I SCREAMED at him in front of a lot of people for repeatedly lighting up his cigarettes 6 feet from my child’s face.  It was the closest I’ve come to making a grown man crap his pants.
Gave myself a pat on the sunburned back for that one.

That about does it. Weekend is over and I’m dealing with a Monday that has a stick up its ass.

This picture makes me smile though:

Seacrest Mama J, OUT!

Our (LONG) Weekend in Pictures.

Back again with our weekend recap, but this time on a Tuesday! It was a nice long Labor day weekend filled with family, friends and beer.

Saturday started with a trip over to Nanna and Grampy’s…  someone was sleepy.

We spent the day in the pool which was so nice and relaxing. Beer, good food and a baby who loves to be in the water… perfect!!

Billy went and grabbed Abs Sunday morning and put her in our bed. I woke up to this face and it was just what I needed:

I went to go get her morning bottle made and warmed, and when I came back, this was what I found… she slept for another hour, right through her bottle. I didn’t have it in me to wake her.

We spent our morning & afternoon in PJs playing with tons of toys... someone got a bit jealous and wanted in on the action:

Sophie also wanted to check out what all the hype was about with the teepee, and I’m pretty sure I got her seal of approval:

I captured our afternoon meltdown.

30 minutes of SCREAMING resulted in a 2 hour and 45 minute nap in mama’s arms. I didn’t hate it.

I decided that we should get out of our PJ’s before B got home from work, but my mood quickly changed when I realized it was September 1st at 6pm and approximately 112 degrees… this can only mean one thing. DIAPER BABY…. With a headband, of course.

We spent our Labor day relaxing and working on Pinterest projects. After a few trips to the dollar store and Michaels craft store, little lady was pooped:

I also really loved the way her chuck legs looked when I rolled up her skinnies.

I’m so excited about the projects I finished yesterday… The first one I got from Pinterest. I went to Michaels and got 12x12 white cardstock, found black number stickers and a cute 12x12 frame. I arranged the numbers to make our wedding date.

The second project I did, involved a bit of investigating through my parents’ house. I was on the hunt for some sort of ‘artwork’ I did when I was little. I say ‘artwork’ loosely because all it really was was blue paint splattered on a white piece of paper. I wanted to put it in a frame and hang it in the house. It’ssomething that I want to do with Abigail too, when she gets a little older, so she has one to put in her house one day. It might be my new favorite thing hanging in my house. I love it!

I hope everyone has an awesome week! I’ll be back later this week with the ‘Fall’ post, like promised. If you have any suggestions on future posts from me… anything you want to see,  email, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram me.

Xoxo, Mama J.
