it was the freakin weekend

& fun we did have!
(If you feel obligated to hit that 'X' at the top of your screen and never come back here because of that cheese fest that just occurred, I don't blame you. I apologize.)

The last few days have been pretty great. Starting with Thursday, when I treated myself to a lunch break pedicure. & then got bored so I dyed my hair. People shouldn't let me get bored. I do drastic things.

I had a rough Friday morning. & by rough I mean I had a runny nose and hated everything that I put on my body trying to get ready for work. So I threw a hissy fit and proceeded to throw all of my clothes on the ground in little balls like a toddler. & then Abigail (the actual toddler) came walking around the corner with a flower that her and billy had just picked up on the walk that he took her on so she didn't see her mother acting like a lunatic and everything was right in the world. #runonsentence
When the work and school day were over, Abigail and I flew solo for the night. We practiced our drawing skills on the magnadoodle and then I was a total creep and took a picture of her cute little piggies sticking out of her crib.

Billy was home Saturday morning so we headed to the local farmers market (this is a much smaller, dirtier, less eventful one than a couple weekends ago). We bought lots of veggies and I realized I wasn't a ten year old anymore. I literally couldn't swing my body weight across even one of those bars. How embarrassing. We made lunch time smoothies, took a 3 hour nap and rounded out the night with an epic game of hide and seek. I almost had to call in the troops to find this sneaky girl ;)

Sunday was filled with mimosas, beautiful beer buckets, lazy rivers & sandy beaches. My parents are renting a condo at a gorgeous beach in Palm Coast, FL and the grounds are more like a resort than condo property. This thing has like 8 pools, 4 hot tubs, water slides, a lazy river, lounge chair bar service... It was pretty amazing. And the best part about it, they have it for another week and a half. We will be heading back out there on Friday to enjoy the holiday weekend :)

I'm a toasty shade of lobster & it makes me heart swim with happiness!

Hope you had a great weekend!!

StitchFix #1

Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this review in any way.
All opinions are my own.

StitchFix (<--- affiliate link!) is a word I've heard thrown around a lot from a few of my favorite bloggers for a while now and I finally took the plunge and signed up about 2 weeks ago!

What is StitchFix?

- StitchFix is a subscription box (how often you receive it is totally up to you!) that sends you 5 items (clothes & accessories)  based on a personal style profile that you fill out when you sign up.

- Once you receive your box, you try on all your items, decide what you want to keep, throw the times you don't love in the provided return shipping envelope and pop it in the mailbox. From there, you log into your account and fill out the feedback survey and declare which items you are keeping.

- StitchFix has a monthly styling fee of $20. If you chose to keep any of the items in the box, the $20 is put towards the cost of the items! If you chose to keep all of the items in your box, you receive a 25% discount on all times! plus your $29 styling fee!

Now on to my very first StitchFix box!

Jill Michael - Montgomery Beaded a Hoop Earrings - $42
I love these! The beads move around on the hoops and I absolutely love the gold color!

Just Black - Nolan Ankle Skinny Jean - $78
The minute I saw these in the box, I thought 'NO WAY!'. I just didn't think I would be able to pull off white jeans. The minute I put them on, I decided that StitchFix knows what they are doing! I loved them on! I would NEVER pick these up off a rack and try them on, normally! I didn't end up keeping them though, for two reasons. One, the sizing was a bit off and two the $78 price tag was not something I could justify.

Pomelo - Moni Geo Print & Camisole Blouse - $58
Eh, I didn't love anything about this. The fit was weird and the pattern and color was a bit much for me.

41Hawthorn - Marie Abstract Chevron Elastic Waist Dress - $58
I really liked this dress! The fit was cute and the pattern was flattering. However, I feel like I already own a few dresses that are similar patterns and styles, so I sent this one packing too.

Olive & Oak - Azza Abstract Chevron Print Hi-Lo Tank - $54
Oh, how I wanted this top to work out! The colors, the print, I just LOVE it! However, it made me look like I was carrying baby #2, which I'm NOT! I so wish it wasn't quite as loose.

The only thing I ended up keeping from my first box was the earrings. Even though I only kept one item, I am completely hooked on this concept!

I logged in to my account and gave some great feedback on all of the items that I sent back. You can also start a StitchFix Pinterest board and 'pin' items/styles you want included in your box.

Side note: Reviewing this box also made me realize that I need to purchase a good, quality, HUGE mirror in order to take full body selfies. I attempted to try on all the clothes and take photos of them, but the pictures were horrendous! Sorry guys!

What do you think? Going to give StitchFix a try?! :)

1st Weekend of Summer!

Saturday kicked off the first official day of Summer & we are pumped!

We spent the weekend knocking a few more things off of our summer bucket list, although none of them took us outside to actually enjoy the gorgeous weather we are having (most of the time).

Saturday was almost like a dream come true for Billy & I.
He headed off to go play golf first thing in the morning and I laid around with Abigail until about 9am.
I dropped her off at my parents for a couple of hours while this mama headed to the SPA

Abigail read books in the corner & I got a mini workout in on the floor of her room. I realized in this moment that this might be my favorite view in our house ;)

Saturday night was spent watching chick flicks at my sisters house and having a good ole fashioned sleepover. Except, none of us really slept. Crying babies. Coughing and sniffling mamas. It was a recipe for disaster. Once 4:45am hit and I had Abigail running around my sisters house like a banshee, I decided to cut our loses and pack up and head home.
Billy and I decided to celebrate our shit show of a night with a pancake breakfast at 6am. #yolo

We had plans to meet up with a group of friends to hit up the indoor rock climbing facility we have locally. Abigail was feeling a bit shy about the adventure, but she handled it like a champ (read also: the exact opposite of how she handled our sleepover the night before).

Because, duh.

This little spider monkey kicked all of our asses at the whole rock climbing thing. You'll notice, he isn't connected to the ropes on his harness and literally had no fear climbing up and down the walls.

I made it to the top, FYI.
However the picture I have of me at the top is at a very unfortunate angle. Those harnesses squeeze in all the wrong places.

We all had so much fun and decided to reward ourselves with a calorie loaded lunch to celebrate our sore forearms.
& then we celebrated a little more with bloodys & New York strips.

And now it's Monday.
And it's been a gem of a Monday at that. I can't go into too much detail of what's gone wrong so far today, however I DID get in a car accident on my lunch break from work.
I'm fine, but my nasty attitude isn't. :)
The week can only go up from here, right?!

Your Monday homework assignment;
leave me a comment with something funny.
A joke, a story, a picture of your face.
Anything to make this stressed out mama laugh is welcomed ;)

Friday FIRSTS.

We've had a lot of firsts happening around here lately so I thought it would be fun to compile them all into a post!

UPDATE!
I posted this earlier today (Friday) and forgot to include a super important FIRST!
I had my FIRST Blog-aversary on the 15th!
That's right, I've been doing this whole blog thing for a full year now!
This was my very first blog post, ( & also Abigail's birth story if you are new around here and want to catch up ;) )  published on 6/15/13 and I love where this thing has gone within a year!
Thank you all so much for sticking around with me! You all mean the world to me!

Abigail had her FIRST taste of heaven last night, in the form of pizza rolls. Homegirl got a chunk of skin bit out of her armpit at school by a little gremlin (not really, just a tiny bite mark) so I let her have all the fat in the world for dinner.
Pizza rolls & goldfish for the win!

I did my FIRST #ootd post!
I felt like a total dweeb asking billy to take a photo (or 47)  of my outfit, but I kind of loved it a lot!
Dress: GOODWILL! (Originally Target I think)
Jean Vest: Target
Necklace: Ross
Shoes: Kohls
Hair: Unwashed from the day before

It was a huge moment for us this morning because I gave A her very FIRST pig tails! Yes, I know they look like antennas or horns, but I love them ;)
It took me strapping her down in her highchair and a few yelps to get them done, but could she be ANY cuter?!

Back to Goodwill... I've been looking and needing a new desk chair for a long time but refused to spend hundreds of dollars on one that was comfy and had some sort of style to it.
We found this gem at Goodwill for $6! Yes, six bucks!
I did my FIRST furniture salvage and got this baby shining like new!
 I absolutely love it!

Abigail & her baby cousin, Addison dressed in matching outfits for the FIRST time this past weekend.
It may not look like it, but they both totally loved it ;)

& last but not least.. I went to Abigail's FIRST school parade this afternoon! The theme was 'Summer Solstice' and her room dressed up like turtles. It actually ended up being a complete shit show because all the babies were pissed and crying which was only escalated when thy saw that their mamas were there to watch them and not take them home.
I managed to snap a few cute pictures of my little turtle before she realized I was there and went ape shit.
The paper plate turtle shell KILLS me!

This photo pretty much sums up the entire parade. Abigail and her BFF Mali were PISSED!

Happy Friday!

Ipsy - June 2014

I haven't been making a habit of reviewing every month of my IPSY subscription box. No real reason other than the fact that they are kind of boring to write about and probably even more annoying to read about if you really have no interest BUT this one was too good to not document.

What is ipsy
ipsy  (<-- affiliate link!) is a monthly membership where subscribers receive a Glam Bag with 5-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products each month. All products come in a monthly themed makeup bag & it all only costs $10 a month

This month, the makeup bag that was included was by Rebecca Minkoff and it is by FAR my most favorite one we have received! This is going straight into my purse or diaper bag. I love, love double love it!

--The contents--

Be A Bombshell Mascara
I was so pumped to see this mascara in the bag this month. I always love getting mascara because I love to try new ones and see what works best for me.
Unfortunately, as soon as I opened it and put it up to my face to try it out, I noticed that it smelled pretty close to JET FUEL and I opted to trash it instead of using it on my eyeballs.
What a bummer.

OFRA Universal Eyebrow Pencil
I've received these before in different subscription boxes that I used to get. I could take it or leave it.

Dream Waves Beach Spray by Marc Anthony
This stuff smells like a Pina Colada for your hair, so it's obviously a winner in my book.
I just sprayed it in my hair, so I'm not sure how it works yet but I love that it doesn't have a sticky texture and it didn't make my hair stiff.

NYX Butter Gloss
Perfect color, perfect applicator and it isn't sticky.
I love this!

for Her by Realtree
I'm obsessed. And once my Chanel is gone, this might be my next perfume purchase.
It's girly, but not overpowering!
And can I also just say that I love when companies send sample sizes that are in a spray pump instead of those ridiculous little glass cylinders that spill everywhere when you try and take the cap off. This is perfect for traveling and IPSY was genius and sent this in the bag IN a small plastic baggie, just in case of spillage but I didn't lose a drop! :)

Have you signed up for IPSY yet? What was in YOUR June bag?
