Let's play catch-up!

I've been the worst excuse for a blogger, lately.
Life hasn't really stopped going 100mph in the past couple of weeks and it got the best of me in the form of radio silence and lots of stress.
So, what have we been up to?
Let's get started..
Abigail had her Back to School photos done at school (<---- click there to see them) and they provided prop glasses to use and she wouldn't put them on. But the second WE are playing and she see that my glasses are within reach, she grabs them and puts them on her face.
This little stink face kills me.

We had Nathan's 6th (WHAT?!) Birthday party at Bounce U two weekends ago.
Familiar? Well, if not.. its an indoor park filled with bounce houses. Regular houses, obstacle courses, slides, boxing rings, shooting games and a room fully glow in the dark with all of those things, too!
I'm 148% positive that the adults had more fun and more injuries than the kids. We ALL still have matching rug burns on our elbows and I'm confident I broke my back in some way.
It was also made pretty apparent that the Savage Race me, Billy, our two best friends and the rest of my family are doing at the end of October is going to be a total disaster. If you're reading this, Savage Race... go ahead and get the defibrillator all warmed up. #clear!
The weather is still unbearably hot in Florida and will probably stay that way until January.
On days when Billy goes to work and it's just me and the babe, we get super stir crazy. I have to strategically plan when we go outside to play so that we don't roast in 4.2 seconds.
& then we proceed to send Billy 1000 photos and make him miss us ;)
Publix started selling Evolution Fresh juices!
& this is the face I make when I have to go pick up Abigail from daycare in the rain for the 300th time. Us mamas & dads are SO over trying to get our babies secured into their carseats while getting soaked.
This is also the face I make when I see a mother pull into a handicapped spot at the front of daycare without a handicap permit just because they don't want to get wet going in and out with their kids. Good example you are, ladies and gents!

Hope your week is off to a fabulous start & check me out, two posts in a row!
Can we make it a third?!

Scenes From the Weekend

Well hey there, friends!
I know it's been a while so I'm going to play catch-up tomorrow on all things missed since I last checked in. I promise to get back to posting regularly, life has just been so busy lately!

Speaking of busy, this weekend was no exception. Although it was one of the best weekends I've had in a very long time!

Here's a peek--

I'm starting with Thursday for the simple reason that I adore this photo.
Nathan (my nephew) and Abigail attend the same school. He is in the private school portion and she is obviously in the daycare portion. I absolutely love that they get to go to school together and love even more that every time Nathan passes A's class, he looks for her and that Abigail's phenomenal teachers always take her down to his class to see him!
Thursday, I ran into my mom at school. She was picking Nathan up and I decided to walk with her. When we got to Nathan's classroom, I let A run free for a minute. We showed her where Nathan's desk was and she wanted to climb right up into the seat.
She is growing up way too fast & my heart can barely stand it!

After 2 very stressful weeks at work, this past Friday was a day that couldn't have come fast enough.
Billy & I and my sister and her husband all had tickets to go to the Luke Bryan concert in Tampa.
We took a limo just to make the night super fun and stress free which turned out to be an excellent idea because it took us a little over FOUR hours to get to Tampa because of the weather and the resulting traffic.
We ended up missing his first opening act, Cole Swindell and most of his second opening act, Lee Brice (which I am SO bummed about!!). We made it for Lee Brice's last song and then of course all of Luke Bryan.
So here's the thing, people... I've been to a lot of concerts. A LOT.
Luke Bryan just may have been the very best concert I have ever been to!
If you like country music, tight pants and a good time... go see him. You won't regret it!
After the concert, we went across the street to the Hardrock Hotel & Casino.
I walked in with $6 and left with $102!
Successful night, I say! ;)
I don't have any pictures from Saturday because the day was spent in PJ's, on the couch with greasy food & gatorade.
Moving right along...
Sunday was fantastic!
Sunday was the day that my parents were flying back home from the quickest trip ever to and from Boston. What were they doing in Boston, you ask?
Bringing my Grampa home!!
Well, his new home at least.
He is officially living in Florida and we all could not be happier!
We are only a 10 minute drive from him now instead of a 3 hour plane ride and we are going to visit him later on this afternoon.
We all went to the airport on Sunday to meet my parents and grampa when they were getting off the plane.
We took selfies until they showed up ;) and then didn't get a single photo after that because once we saw them coming, it was a mad dash to the parking garage. The oxygen concentrator that he was using was running low on battery so my dad had to rush him to the car to get him plugged in. But he's happy to be here, with all of us and we can't wait to spend as much time with his as possible!
Also, Abigail's pigtails were killing me yesterday!

Check back tomorrow to see what I've been up to the last week or so!

Back to School Photos

I've mentioned before that Abigail's daycare takes every opportunity to bring in their photographer and have photos taken of the kids.
I appreciate it so much and have taken advantage of them all!
A few weeks ago, Abigail took her 2014 Back to School photos and I'm so excited to share them with you today!
She kills you too, right?!
Which one is your favorite? I can't decide ;)

Siesta Key ((VACATION!))

A few months ago, my best friend and I were at work (we work in the same office) and about 30 seconds away from a 2007 head-shaving Britney meltdown and knew that we needed a vacation. Something. Anything.
So we booked one.
We rented a cute little 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo on Siesta Key Beach, which is located in Sarasota, FL.
The condo we stayed at was adorable. It wasn't directly on the beach, but it was only about a 3 minute walk to it, it was the most wonderful patio to sit on while the babies napped and went to bed at night, and a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen which we ended up really utilizing.
If you are ever looking to stay near Siesta Key, I definitely recommend The Beach Club at Siesta Key.
We arrived in the area on Thursday afternoon and immediately found a place to get some food and perhaps an adult beverage or two ;)
We found ourselves at a place called The Daiquiri Deck sitting outside on the patio in the gorgeous Florida sun.
The cup is empty and the cap is on, don't panic ;)
Our ponytail game was on point!
Once we got settled into our rooms, we quickly headed to check out the beach.
Siesta Key is one of the most (if not THE most) beautiful beaches in the world!
The sand is as soft and smooth as flour and the water is gorgeous.
The girls LOVED their wagon rides along the beach.
The first morning, we scarfed down some breakfast and made our way out for an afternoon in the sun.
The girls were inseparable & the pictures just keep getting cuter.
Abigail loved chasing the seagulls, which actually worked in our favor since we were surrounded by some lovely tourists who decided it would be SO super fun to throw bread into the air and feed them.
Is there anything us Florida people hate more? Probably not..
We only saw a couple of jellyfish, but the ones we saw weren't messing around.
On our last day at the beach, I was carrying Abigail and went to go splash around in the water. I made it maybe 3 feet in and saw a jellyfish that was approximately the size of a large, new york style pizza pie and at the point, I decided I was done with the ocean.
Mama doesn't toy with creatures that require someone peeing on me to fix. ;)
This is what naptime looked like each day.
& this is what nighttime looked like.
Have you guys played Cards Against Humanity?! It is one of the most fun games I have ever played and I think I cried from laughing at least a dozen times.
I definitely recommend it!
We spent a lot of time at the pool as well.
Can you handle this picture? Because I can't.
They love each other so much!
Her unibrow makes me smile ;)
We caught the sunset two out of the three nights we were there and it was magical.
We took lots of selfies and tried to soak up every beautiful, relaxing minute.
Saturday was our last full day at the beach and we tried to make the most of it.
The weather was perfect so we split our time between the beach and the pool.
The property we stayed at had 4 propane grills for us to use, which we the boys did to grill steak two of our nights. It was so much nicer to be able to stay in and cook real food instead of having to pack up the girls each night to go out.
Our last night on the beach turned into a real serious photoshoot and I'm not mad about it.
We had the very best time and it was just what we needed to put a little pep back into ALL of our steps.
And then Monday rolled around and it was a real bitch of a day.
As soon as I got to the office, my favorite wedges popped and broke.
I was so busy I didn't even heat my lunch up until almost 3pm.
And then I got a sippy cup punch to the face by Abigail during dinner.
Time for another vacation!
