our week, thanksgiving & weekend.

((tap, tap.. is this thing on?!))
Thanks for baring with me this week while I took some time away from the blog. It was a sad one for sure but taking the week off means there is A LOT to catch up on & a lot of pictures to share with y'all. So strap in and get ready for an overload... this is what the week, thanksgiving & weekend looked like for us.

Our Week;

I bought these last Sunday... & by Monday I had eaten four.
Emotional eater; party of one!

This chick.. she has made so many sad days just a little bit brighter.

She takes 10 minutes to make sure the pencil is placed perfectly between her fingers & then gets bored of drawing after 30 seconds.

She insists on coloring on the floor. And in this instance, with one shoe off.
After I snapped this photo, she came over to me to give me a big hug, said 'poopie' and then I realized she had shit crawling up her back (and now all over my hands).
Parenthood y'all, it's the greatest. ;)

She helped me make Peanut Butter Balls (recipe to come!) for Billy/Thanksgiving on Wednesday. She was a big fan of licking ANYTHING that touched the peanut butter. I'm positive she would have licked the counters clean if I would have let her.

Our Thanksgiving;

Billy & I have hosted Thanksgiving at our house the past two years (click here to see last years) but my mom wanted it back this year, so we gladly gave it away.

We have made it a tradition now to take all of the pumpkins that we have laying around from Halloween and play baseball with them. It is one of the best parts of the day!

Feast your eyes on my new favorite picture!
My whole world, in one photo!

We rounded out the night with a few rounds of catchphrase and frosty beverages.
& if anyone is wondering, the girls were team one ;)

Our Weekend;

What seemed like a low key weekend was actually jam packed with checking things off of our to-do lists and fun!
Billy worked from 2:30am - 3:30pm on (black)Friday -- they cater all of the department stores employees that open early, in case you are wondering -- so Friday night was pretty mellow. And by mellow I mean he was asleep by 7pm and I laid in bed watching movies.
I did all of my Black Friday shopping online, mostly because I don't have a death wish but also because I put Abigail in daycare on Friday and had an entire pantsless, braless day to myself at home. Mama wasn't doing anything that involved pants. Nothing.

We spent the day on Saturday decorating the house for the Holidays!
The tree went up & was decorated during Abigail's nap time and the look on her face when she woke up and saw it was priceless. I'll let her help put it up next year, she was still too young this year.

By 5:45pm, I was having trouble keeping Abigail awake. She always goes to bed relatively early, but that was WAY too early for her. I exhausted every option to keep her occupied and awake. By 6pm, I gave in a put her to bed. & she slept until 8:20am Sunday. My girl loves to sleep!

Sunday, we spent the whole morning cleaning the garage & cutting down a tree in our front yard. How adult-ish, I know.
After nap time, we went and visited my grandfather, went to the jewelry store to get my wedding rings cleaned & inspected, headed to Trader Joe's (for the first time ever! I'm in love, y'all!!) & then popped into my parents house for a quick visit. Phew, I'm exhausted just typing it all.

This is what Abigail thinks of her mama's singing. Which is weird because this is exactly what Billy does too ; )

We had just enough steam in us when we got home to heat up Thanksgiving leftovers and stuff our faces one more time this weekend.
I am now officially curled up on the couch, watching Four Christmases & staring at my pretty tree.

I hope your weekend was filled with lots of turkey, snuggles & Christmas trees!

Papa.

You may have missed it, but a week ago I posted about the wedding all of my family and I attended for one of my cousins.

It was beautiful, we all had an amazing time and my Papa was there. He promised Katie, the bride, that he would be. And he was. And we all danced and laughed and soaked in every moment.

24 hours later, my Papa passed away.
We all knew it was coming, he had been sick for a while. But that doesn't make any of this easier, by a long shot.

10 kids, 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  And I can't remember the last time even half of us were in the same room together. But that is exactly what happened on Friday; celebrating his life

We told stories, laughed, cried (a lot) & drank a ton of Irish whiskey (I'm lookin' at you Dad and Uncle Jack ;) ), his favorite.

He loved wine, playing cheating at dominos, finding family members we never even knew existed and had traveled to approximately 4 bajillion different places around the world.
He served our country and helped raise an enormous and at most times, dysfunctional family.

He was one of the greatest men & I am so proud to call him my Papa.

He will be forever missed & never ever forgotten.

a wedding & a hangover.

I'm keeping it short and sweet for this one, guys. Because I'm hungover & because I just tried to fix my sticking space bar before I started writing this & now I'm having to type without one. I just don't have that kind of patience on a Sunday night.

So here we go;

Friday Night-- shopping & pedicures with my mom while my dad stayed home and put Abigail to bed. It was as glorious as it sounds.
Saturday-- headed to Dade City, FL for my cousins wedding. It was absolutely beautiful, the weather was amazing & we all had an absolute blast dancing our faces off.

Katie, you were absolutely stunning & I am so happy for you and Chris!

Sunday hates me. My liver hates me.
I spent the entire day at my sisters house so that Nathan could play with my kid all day while I laid on the couch with water & french fries. It only half way worked & I wasn't near as bummish as I wanted to be.

She focused so hard on holding the chalk and drawing, my heart melted.

Something tells me these two are going to be the best of friends ;)

& that's all I've got. I'm calling it a successful weekend only for the fact that I wrote this post on Sunday night and not Monday afternoon.
You can't win em all, ya'll!

Side note; I'm writing this as I'm watching last weeks Scandal and my jaw is currently sitting on my living room floor. If you're not on this train yet, it's time! You won't regret it, I promise!

favorites & confessions.

It's Friday, ya'll!

I've got a few favorites & a few confessions (<--- link up links!)  for you this week, so sit back, grab some vodka coffee & enjoy!

First up, a confession. Almost all of my favorites today are from Target. They didn't pay me for this post in any way. I'm just addicted to the store. But who isn't really.

I bought this scarf from Target this week (it's on sale right now!!)  & I am absolutely obsessed with it! It's so big and fluffy & ((confession)) I wore it as a blanket while at work today because our office is an icebox.
Confession -- I need a better selfie taking mirror. & it needs to be put somewhere in my house with better light.

Every morning, Billy makes me a cup of tea to-go for my drive to work and daycare which can sometimes, depending on traffic take a while. I found these cups from Target and their new Cheeky line and I love them! The colors are perfect & they somehow put me in a better mood so early in the morning.

Confession-- I took this photo on top of my washing machine & there is a clothespin on the left hand side of the cup keeping it from rolling away.

I am absolutely loving the weather in Florida lately. It is between 50 & 60 degrees in the morning, 70's in the afternoon and then back down at night. I've been able to bring out some of Fall staples which include any and all long sleeve shirts with thumb holes and these leopard shoes. I'm obsessed.

Speaking of shoes, I was cleaning out my closet the other day with Abigail and while I was folding clothes on my bed, I turned the corner into my closet and found her trying on all of my shoes. I die.
Confession -- There are so many things to judge about this photo. The insane amount of shoes, the incredibly full diaper & the fact that I had to crop 90% of the photo because there were clothes everywhere. #yolo

I was perusing through the Target Christmas section the other day and came across their collection of marquee style signs. I found this heart marquee sign and thought it was PERFECT for the vision I have for Abigail's 'big girl room' that we have decided to give her for her 2nd birthday. So we scooped it up and plan on giving it to her as one of her gifts for Christmas.

And last but certainly not least, my favorite confession is that Abigail and I take parking lot car selfies on the regular to send to daddy. & she has started to smile when I tell her to for them. My heart melts :)

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. We are headed to a wedding on Saturday so it should be a great one!

Martinis & Tacos -- Our Weekend.

This weekend was way too short, right? Like 'just left my desk chair on Friday and now I'm back sitting it on Monday and it's only been 30 seconds' kind of short.

Last week was rough for so many reasons including going to the dermatologist and having 3 biopsies done and then getting approximately 6 gallons of blood drawn the next day for lab work (I'm fine, just getting some tune-ups).
I had a Friday Happy Hour scheduled with some of my girlfriends from work and 3:30 could not have hit fast enough. I needed to dive head first into a martini glass, stat. And dive I did.. into 4 of them to be exact.

Girl talk, martinis and beautiful Florida Fall weather. It was perfect. And too short. WAY too short.

Saturday was filled with renting a carpet cleaner from Home Depot to clean our couch and living room area rug and lots of sniffles. Abigail and I are both recovering from head colds so we were super lazy after Billy went to work at 3pm.
Speaking of our area rug, we got it from IKEA 2 years ago and we love it. It's huge and it was expensive and its the only way our couch doesn't go sliding across our tile floor.... and now it smells like mildew from cleaning it with a Rug Doctor. Anyone have any ideas?

Saturday night selfies before bedtime are my favorite.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you have already seen this picture and the caption that went with it however, I will say it again... There will never be a day that I take for granted how much one-on-one time I get to spend with my girl. It's overwhelming, stressful and down right exhausting but it's perfect. And we miss daddy while he is working long, strange hours -- I miss him even more when she is teething though ;)

Sunday morning.
This is her favorite way to sit on the couch. Looks cozy ;)

We had friends and family over Sunday afternoon for Football and a taco bar.
We all ate our weight in queso and then scarfed down an inappropriate amount of tacos.
Billy made a great little setup for us and they were absolutely delicious.
I'm confident we are all still recovering.

This is a picture of our baby monitor of the girls quietly playing/reading books in Abigail's room. It was too cute not to share. They sat there for a while talking to each other and babbling about the books they were reading. My heart melts.

Once the house was empty and the mess was cleaned up, I spent the rest of the evening cleaning out my closet, folding, hanging and putting away every stitch of clothing we own and watching some of my DVR'd shows.

And now it's Monday. And I sat in traffic for an hour just to get to daycare & work. And I may or may not have called Billy while I was stuck on I4 and told him to steal the 'For Sale' sign from the house next door and stick it in our yard. I am the definition of OVER IT!

Fall Pictures

Abigail had another batch of school photos taken a few weeks ago. This time, they were Fall/Pumpkin patch pictures!

I've expressed my excitement before ( Back to School photos here!) that her school has all of these opportunities for them to take themed photos and this time is no exception!

I love the way most of them turned out and love that they show pretty much all sides of her personality. From super happy to down right annoyed. That's my girl ;)

And this next photo is obviously my favorite and made the $20 we have to pay for all of these (I know! Only $20!!) totally worth it!
That hat.. I can't.

What do you think? Which one do you like best?

XOXO.

Our Halloween

Hi friends! It's practically Wednesday and I'm just now getting a chance to sit down and write about our Halloween!
We have been going non-stop and time got away from me. But we're here now, so let's get to it, shall we?
First things first..... Blog people, meet my cupcake!

|| Costume is from Target. I added the tutu just for fun ||

Halloween was a happily hectic day. I had plans for what seemed like every hour of the day starting with a haunted house and festive potluck at work.
Each year, my office puts on a fabulous Haunted House (seriously, it's so good and SO scary!) which raises money/donations for a local charity. And each year I get forced into walking through it even though I absolutely HATE being scared! I am an absolute basket case each year and I'm pretty sure my friends at work make me go through it because they know I'm such a good time.
Right as my workday ended, I headed off to Abigail's school for her Halloween Party.
It was a blast and her teachers (who I absolutely adore!!! Hi girls!) did such an amazing job with the decorations and food. They work so hard and take such good care of my baby girl :)

Abigail & one of her teachers during their parade Friday morning.

Just a portion of the adorable food they put together for all of the kids & their parents--

Abigail & Minnie Mouse Miss Cat :)

After the Halloween party, we headed outside to the school's parking lot for Trunk or Treating! A handful of parents and teachers decorated their cars and handed out candy to all the kids participating. Abigail absolutely loved it! Once she realized that she was getting treats from each car, I couldn't keep up with her!
Abigail with Miss Areli & Miss Kaitlyn :)

After trunk or treating, we headed off to the nursing home to go visit my grandfather so he could see Abigail in her costume. I love that we get to share these moments with him now!
Next up was Chick-fil-a for dinner and then Trick or Treating at my parents house!
By this point, Abigail & I were both absolutely exhausted, but I was determined for her to hit at least a few houses.
I don't know if she was more excited to ring the doorbells or see that she was getting even more candy, but she was sprinting from house to house. We visited 5 or 6 houses and then called it a night.

By the time I got us home and Abigail ready for bed, I was so beat I never even turned my lights on to hand out candy. Instead, I grabbed the bucket of kit kats and snickers and got cozy with my DVR until Billy got home.

And I should probably mention that when Billy did come home, he said he had a surprise for me and took me outside. To which he opened up his trunk and showed me THE KEG he brought home. Umm, what?!

Bottoms up, guys!
