Central Florida Zoo

We spent this past Sunday morning and afternoon at the Central Florida Zoo with a couple of our favorite people!

We had visited the Zoo property a few years ago to do the zip lining adventure they offer (which was a total blast and we are definitely doing it again!) but had never actually been to the Zoo portion.  Which now seems so silly, since it is only about 7 minutes from our house :)

Abigail's favorite parts were the birdies, otters and giraffes! She had so much fun roaming around, hand in hand with her little best friend, Mali and even got to pet some goats!

At the end of our visit, we ended up going back to the ticket window and purchasing annual passes. With it being so close to home, access to their Splash Pad (with tiki bars and lounge chairs for mamas) and a huge playground, it is going to be our go-to during the Spring and Summer... which are one in the same in Florida.

Before we left, we spotted one of those trampoline/slingshot things for kids. We kind of figured that the girls weren't big enough for it but we decided to check it out anyways. To our surprise, the minimum weight was only 20lbs so both girls were able to go on it!
I thought FOR SURE that Abigail wouldn't make it past getting harnessed in. She doesn't like to be constrained in any way and I really thought it was $5 lost.
But of course, she proved me wrong! She got harnessed in and immediately started jumping on the trampoline. She loved it. And then the attendant hoisted her up and started pulling the bungee cords so Abigail would fly through the air. And FLY she did! She went SO high, I was kind of freaking out a little bit. But her giggles and happy screams were totally worth it!
I am going to post a video of it on my Instagram and Facebook, if you want to check it out ;)

pedis, birthdays & giraffes - Our Weekend.

I feel like it should still be Friday.. anyone else? Geez, this weekend flew by!
We had a packed two days which I'm sure is playing a big part in that, but that just means I have something to talk about today!

Here's what our weekend looked like --

After work and school pickup, Abigail and I headed home for some puzzles (she is loving these & these right now) and pedicures ;)
We were in the middle of doing puzzles when she stood up and ran into our bedroom. She found a pen on the floor, brought it out and sat down and started to color her toes. I asked her if she wanted me to paint her toes and she squealed with excitement. She sat so still on our bathroom floor and held the bottle of polish for me while I brushed it on her toes.  I was able to get two coats of pink and a clear coat on them. Her favorite part was when I took out the blow dryer to blow cool air on them. And to make sure she didn't get polish everywhere, she went straight into her highchair for dinner.

By the time I got Abigail down to bed and Billy came home from work, I had a killer headache. Lack of sleep and a long week at work had finally caught up with me and I felt like complete crap. Billy ended up giving me some ZzzQuil and I was asleep in about four and a half seconds. And the best part.... he let me sleep until NINE-THIRTY in the MORNING the next day. I don't think that has happened in 2 years!! NINE-THIRTY! It was absolutely magical!

We had a birthday party to go to in the early afternoon (Happy 1st Birthday, Bray!) before Billy had to go to work and Abigail had a total blast!
Here is Abigail & daddy coloring Brays gift bag before the party ;)
& also a perfect example of how our house looks at any given time... a total disaster. And heyyy wall mounted beer bottle opener in the kitchen, ha!

After a VERY late nap Saturday afternoon, I pulled out an early Easter present and introduced play-doh to Abigail! She loved it! And any activity that distracts her for an entire hour is a winner in my book. Even if she did mix all the colors together and I was having a total slight panic attack.

We spent our Sunday morning and afternoon at the Central Florida Zoo! I'm going to recap that separately since this post is already getting pretty wordy, but just know that we all had SO much fun and ended up buying annual passes because splash pad & beer.

& now it's Sunday night and I'm snuggled up on the couch watching the iHeart Radio Awards (Justin Timberlake should win everything, all the time.) and writing this post.
Tomorrow's agenda consists of Abigail's first dentist appointment (Lord, help us!), a full day of work & The Taste of Lake Mary to round out our night!

StitchFix Review #2

Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this review in any way.
All opinions are my own.

A while back, I received my first ever StitchFix box (you can read that one here) and I loved it! Life got busy and I never scheduled to get another one, until recently. I recived my second box last week and I'm here to review it for you guys!

So, what is StitchFix?

- StitchFix is a subscription box (how often you receive it is totally up to you!) that sends you 5 items (clothes & accessories)  based on a personal style profile that you fill out when you sign up.
- Once you receive your box, you try on all your items, decide what you want to keep, throw the times you don't love in the provided return shipping envelope and pop it in the mailbox. From there, you log into your account and fill out the feedback survey and declare which items you are keeping.

- StitchFix has a monthly styling fee of $20. If you chose to keep any of the items in the box, the $20 is put towards the cost of the items! If you chose to keep all of the items in your box, you receive a 25% discount on all times! plus your $29 styling fee!

If you love it as much as I do, you can sign up to get your own box by clicking here (<-- affiliate link)!

Like a dummy, I accidentally threw out the information card that comes with the box, so I'm going to make up the names & try my best to remember the pricing of the clothing items. Better luck next time!

Chevron Blouse - $58
I really liked this shirt. The design was cute too, but it was awkwardly tight around my shoulders. You know when you stretch your arms out and it feels like you're going rip your shirt in half, hulk style... that's what this shirt felt like. - Returned.

Puffy Sleeved Fringe Shirt - $48
Loved this one! The top and sleeves of this one are stretchy and the fringe at the bottom made it a definite keep for me! This picture doesn't do the shirt justice, but I picked this one just so you could see the babe rocking my heels in the background. - Kept

Aztec High-Low Top - $48
Didn't really love anything about this one. It fit just fine but I didn't think the colors were very flattering on me and I just couldn't justify the price. - Returned.

Army Green Sleeveless Vest - $58
I love a good vest, for sure! But this one didn't scream Spring or Summer to me so it had to go. - Returned.

Navy Stripped Dress - $58
When I saw this in the box, I was SO excited. I loved the way it looked, the material, everything about it. And then I put it on. It wasn't flattering on me whatsoever. I thought it made me look frumpy. It made me so sad! I loved the 3/4 sleeves and that I could dress it down with flats or up with heels for a night out or to work. Sigh... - Returned.

All in all I thought it was a great fix! I only kept one item, but I consider that a win since my $20 styling fee didn't go to waste!
My next fix is schedule to arrive on April 16th and I left my stylist detailed notes on the types of items I am looking for and I also updated my Pinterest page to help as well!
And I'll also do a better job of having the correct names and pricing for you guys as well!

And here is what I'm dealing with in between photos ;)

Happy Wednesday! XO.

the weekend.

.friday
after a lunch break shopping spree for a new Spring wardrobe, my friend Heather and I left work at our usual 3:45pm Friday time and headed to the nail salon for some pampering. We had every intention of going shoe shopping after our nails, but decided to be spontaneous instead and headed to happy hour for drinks and snacks instead. It was a fantastic decision but were too busy chit-chatting for pictures ;)
After getting home and putting Abigail to bed, I spent the remainder of the night catching up on some of my recorded tv and waiting for Billy to get home.

.saturday
we woke up Saturday morning ready to tackle some Sams Club shopping. I'm pretty sure we came home with half of the store and took approximately 15 hours to put it all away. Just kidding, there is still a ginormous bag of red solo cups sitting on our floor.
I had an early afternoon hair appointment where I chopped off my hair again and took out the blonde and replaced it with honey.. I'll post pictures soon, once I wash it again ;)
Billy went to work after I got home and it was just me and the little babe for the rest of the afternoon/night. We decided to get some shopping under our belts and hit up Old Navy and Target for bathing suits, flip flops and Easter eggs.
As I was getting into the shower early that day, I looked down at my phone and when I looked back up I felt a pop in my neck. And then I couldn't move my neck. It bothered me the entire day and caused a pretty severe headache to ensue for the rest of my night. I didn't mind the extra rest though.

.sunday
our Sunday started kind of like our Saturday in that we went grocery shopping first thing. This time at Target. And after savings up some major coupons and savings a total of $75 on our bill (!!!!) I was feeling pretty damn good about the day. We got our bathing suits on and walked over to my parents house to soak in the pool all day. Except the pool was MUCH colder than we anticipated thanks to what appears to be a broken heater, so we really just relaxed in lounge chairs in the sun and sipped on tasty beverages all day. And then Abigail woke up from her nap and desperately wanted to swim, so we stripped her naked and let her play on the steps for a few minutes.

During our walk over to my parents, Abigail started running on the sidewalk and tripped on her flip flops. She ended up getting some pretty bad road rash on her knees, elbows, chin and fingers and I think the pain really kicked in towards bedtime. She ended up waking up at 4am this morning, sad and in pain. We brought her into our room where she cuddled with us (but never went back to sleep, or let us for that matter) until we all got up for the day around 7am. We are all dragging our feet today and am hoping she makes it through the day without completely breaking down.

Hope you all had a great weekend & have an even better Monday! XO.

Friday Favorites.

It's been a hot minute since I've done a Friday Favorites, huh?!
Well, I'm happy to be back so let's get to it!

Same as before, I am linking up with Heather from Life in Leggings!

When Billy and I went to the Farmers Market last weekend, we stopped at a booth selling organic/all natural energy bars. We sampled a few and decided they were absolutely delicious! We came home with coconut, peanut butter, cookie dough and brownie batter. The only one we haven't gobbled up yet is the brownie batter.
And after checking out their website, you can actually make your own bars and have them delivered! I can't wait to try it out!

I know I mentioned it on the blog a bit ago, but I have been in desperate need of a new laptop. It seems like every time I buy one, a year later it doesn't work and I'm buying a new one. I put a lot of research into it and last weekend, I bought this one, in Satin Gold! I love it so far and am really happy with my decision... but ask me the same question in a year ;)

Um, has anyone else's face been feeling like its falling apart? Yikes.. mine is in rough shape. It's dry, I have splotches and I'm starting to feel like I'm looking old. I ordered the this face mask (which has great reviews and I have seen all over Pinterest) the other day and am hoping it helps with the constant dryness, but I'm looking for some quality anti-aging and everyday facial cleaners. Suggestions anyone?!

Slowly but surely, our new house is coming together. It has taken us a long while to make it feel like 'our' home, but I feel like we are finally getting there. I'm having a blast redecorating with things we already had, just putting them in new places and am loving the way things are turning out!

A little glimpse into our kitchen :)

Um, another thing I ordered the other day, which might wind me up in the hospital are these rollerblades!! We live right off of a great walking/bike trail now and since I despise running with my jacked up knees & bikes are a big investment, I went with rollerblades. Except I forgot to order pads to go with them & Billy is insisting that I wear them. Like I'm clumsy or something ;)

& last but certainly not least, this chick is my absolute favorite! She is absolutely obsessed with trying on all of mama's shoes right now. She will go in my closet and sit for as long as I allow it and just try them all on. She walks really well in them too, which is a bit scary/impressive.

And that's all I've got! I hope you all have a great weekend! XO.

Spring Photos!

I've mentioned it several times before on the blog but Abigail's school takes every opportunity to bring in a photographer to capture the kids for every holiday and season. I love it and take full advantage every time.
Spring photos were no exception - I love the way they turned out, cheesy photo props and all (even though I asked the photograph to tone it down ;) )
To take a look back on past photo sessions, click the links below.
Otherwise; enjoy this years Spring photos!

Our Weekend; Picture Style.

Is it just me or was this the fastest weekend in the history of weekends?!
We played it pretty low key around here, but it flew by and I'm having a hard time coping with the fact that it's Monday again.

Friday after getting out of work and picking up my little sweet thing from school we went home and played it cool. We made dinner, which she absolutely loves to help with and planned on an early bedtime for all of our sanity. Home girl had other plans... after 3 attempts and an hour an a half of trying to put her to bed and her asking for everything she could think of (moothie (smoothie), teebee (TV), etc.) I gave up and let her snuggle on the couch with me. We watched YouTube videos of Bruno Mars music (she's obsessed) and then daddy surprised us by walking through the door WAY earlier than I expected. He got to see her for a few minutes and then took over 'bedtime' duty.. win, win!

A small change in Billy's schedule for the weekend meant an entire Saturday off... early morning Farmer's Market & date night it was!

We decided to make the short drive out to the Winter Park Farmers Market instead of our local one, since it has a MUCH bigger selection and it turned out to be a great decision. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, we stocked up on lots of fresh veggies & we ate gourmet French fries out of a Chinese food box covered in garlic and cheese while Abigail ran around the park.

Whenever Billy has a Saturday off we like to try and schedule some sort of date night. We hired a sitter at the last minute (thanks, Cat!) & headed out to Winter Park (again!). We ate dinner at this cute little sports bar-ish restaurant called The Porch. The food was so good and I loved the atmosphere. All the food came out on metal trays, middle school cafeteria style & they served the dipping sauces in 1/2 cup measuring cups, it was just cute and totally my style. I wanted to order one of everything on the menu, so we will definitely be back! If you're local, check it out!
After dinner, we walked Park Ave. for a bit and then decided to head back closer to home and visit our favorite bartender.

A Saturday off for Billy means he works all day on Sunday so it was just me and the chick all day. We got the car detailed in the morning, she took a much needed 3 hour nap, we played dress up, practiced our ABC's and laughed & laughed until we had tears in our eyes. And of course, because I don't like to paint a picture perfect life because it's anything but, I had to FaceTime Billy while he was at work during a 15 minute long epic meltdown over not being able to sit in the DRIVERS SEAT of the car while we ran errands because I knew it would get her to calm down, she fell off of a stool and hit her chin & pooped one too many times for my liking. But she woke up from her nap with a dry diaper, told me she had to 'potty', grabbed my hand and dragged me into the bathroom where sure enough, she went pee and earned herself some jellybeans, so we are calling it a win all around.
Three cheers for being potty trained before age two!

She also developed a serious obsession with my rings this weekend. I love how ladylike and quaint her little hand looks.

I work from home on Mondays so it makes starting the week a little more bearable. Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and I'm really hoping some green beer finds its way into my mouth.

Happy day, friends! XO.

Abigail's (almost) big girl room tour.

I had originally planned on switching Abigail to a twin-sized bed when we moved into the new house but at the last minute decided neither of us were ready for that. She isn't trying to climb out of her crib yet (despite the picture I posted on my Instagram -- I think that scared her enough) and I figured the move would be traumatic enough on it's own, we didn't need to add another element to it.
I wasn't ready either. I'm already sad that she is growing up so fast, I was emotional over the move.. it just wasn't in the cards.
I gave her room a 'big girl' update though, just without the bed. I added a ladder shelving unit to store a lot of her goodies, livened up her rain gutter bookshelves and she sleeps with a real pillow now ;)

If you want to see what her room looked like in the old house, you can click here.

& here is what her room currently looks like:

The ladder shelf stores a few of her favorite stuffed animals, all of her dress up clothes, a basket full of her shoes, hair-ties and headbands & her owl piggy bank, of course ;)
Am I the only parent out there that has ever used their kids piggy bank money to tip the pizza delivery guy?... Yes? Oh, ok.
Her very favorite book right now is the one with the pigs on it, which happens to be my very least favorite.

We moved her height ruler to her room because we don't really have a designated playroom in the new house. I made the pink, purple and white tassel garland last year and her hand and foot print from when she was a teeny tiny little thing is framed on her dresser.

I went to Ikea a few weeks ago and it has kind of turned into a tradition of buying her a stuffed animal whenever we go. She has a stuffed broccoli, carrot, moose... and so this time I picked up that cloud pillow. She loves sleeping with it :)

Abigail has adjusted really well to the new house. She never had any problems falling asleep in her new room and I'm anxious to see if she'll do just as well when we finally transition her to a twin. But not too anxious, because mama just ain't ready yet ;)

Our Weekend.

I know everyone is complaining about Daylight Savings Time, especially if you have a little one, but am I the only one who has a kid that totally ROCKS at adjusting her schedule?! Abigail has been through 3 time changes now and it has never been an issue. We keep her on a pretty tight schedule everyday, as far as sleep goes... 11:30am naptime (for 2-3 hours) and then a 6:30pm-7pm bedtime, where she sleeps for 12-14 hours.. and every DST I moan and complain that she's going to be a little monster and then every time she totally surprises me. Billy & I are having a harder time than she is!

Moving on to the weekend, it was pretty low key. I took a road trip to go see my Nana with my sister and her family, complete with baby fevers and tantrums.. which resulted in me drinking an entire bottle of wine during the duration of my DVR'd Grey's Anatomy episode.

Sunday was spent drinking water and eating ibuprofen, grocery shopping and trying to make sense of our house, which still isn't completely unpacked yet.

Oh, and I got a new computer which I'm super jazzed about! Which means more blogging... I hope ;)

I don't have many pictures from the weekend, because I'm a super slacker.. but I promise I'll work on that too!

Happy Monday! XO.

Back to normal.

hi y'all!
It's been a while, hasn't it?! Life has been nothing but pure chaos these last few weeks. I touched on it here, but from there it just got worse. We didn't get the approval we needed until the day before we ended up closing, which was just this past Friday. Meaning, we had a lease going and still had our mortgage and had no idea if the sale was actually going through. We were beyond stressed out, but it all worked out!

I got pretty emotional while we were moving out of our house and into the new one. While we knew going into it 2 and a half years ago that it wasn't our 'forever home', it was still the first home we purchased, it was the neighborhood where I threw up in my neighbors yards while I was pregnant (true story) and it was where we brought Abigail home from the hospital and raised her for the first almost two years of her life.

The new place doesn't feel like home yet, but we're working on it.
I hope now that we are more on the settled side and a little less stressed out I can really get back into the swing of things around here.

I'm currently without a computer and have a phone that is on it's last leg so blogging has been hard, but I'm in the process of buying new ones :) Anyone has a suggestion for a good quality, non-macbook laptop? I could use them!

Here are a few pictures of the new place & if anyone is interested in a house tour once everything is all done, let me know in the comments! :)

XO!
