My Thoughts on Caitlyn.

I know... another article from another blogger on their thoughts about Caitlyn Jenner.
If you actually clicked on my link, I'll try and make it worth your while.

I truthfully don't even know where to begin with this post, so if it's all over the place, I apologize. But after having a couple of days to think about it and read more than enough articles on different perspectives, I feel like I'm ready to give mine, no matter what anyone else thinks about it.

First and foremost, I am a 'do you!' type of gal. Do what makes you happy. Don't live for anyone else except yourself. As long as you aren't causing harm to anyone else, do what you want and don't apologize for it. If you know me in real life, you know I live by these rules. I truly live my life without caring what people think. The only time I have regretted this is the summer of 2012 when I thought bangs were a good idea. It wasn't and I cared what people thought.

When the rumors started swirling around about Bruce Jenner (referring to him as him pre-transition) starting his transition, my heart broke for him. When his interview with Diane Sawyer aired, my heart broke for him even more. There was a line that really stuck with me and it went something like, 'I didn't want to die not being able to live the life I feel like I was supposed to live'. For just one second, imagine living a complete lie for 65 years. A life that you felt you couldn't live because of other peoples opinions and prying eyes. There aren't many things, in my opinion, worse than that.

The day Caitlyn Jenner was introduced to the world, I was so happy to see how much support she was receiving. And on the flip side, so disappointed with how much backlash she got.

Did Caitlyn Jenner hurt you in some way? Are her decisions affecting your everyday life? Do you go to bed at night thinking about how painful it is that Caitlyn is Caitlyn? No, no & no.

I've noticed there are two different groups of people who have really been up in arms over it... The religious group & confused/scared group.

You can preach to me all day long that it isn't 'right', that God made you who you are for a reason and you shouldn't change/ go against His plans and I hear you. I really do. I just don't agree with you.
If God can 'forgive' Josh Duggar for molesting 4 of his sisters and a babysitter at the age of 14, he can  surely 'forgive' Caitlyn Jenner for not agreeing with His gender plans for her, don't ya think? (Side note: where are all of your opinions on that one?? It's been radio silence on my feeds...)

For those of you that fall into the confused and/or scared group, I get it. It's different. It's not something that many people are familiar with. But educate yourselves before you cast such harsh judgment on something you really know nothing about. Being a nice person is the easiest thing for anyone to do. I encourage everyone to try it.

And for those of you who were up in a tizzy over the Noah Galloway/Caitlyn Jenner/ESPN Courage Award, read this and calm your bits (I said bits, Mom!). Caitlyn Jenner certainly did not earn her bravery from fighting a war and I truly believe that there is nothing braver than fighting for our country! But when did that become the standard for brave? Is there any reason why Caitlyn can't be considered brave in her own right? She is to me, and I truly hope that Caitlyn has inspired anyone struggling to just 'do you'!

I know I usually keep it light and fluffy around here guys, but when something really grinds my gears (what am I, 100 years old?!) I'm truly thankful I have this little space on the internet to voice my thoughts. You don't have to agree with me & I encourage you to share your own opinions.
We'll be back to the regularly scheduled programing (cute babies and pictures of margaritas) next week.

Have a great weekend, y'all!
