Pumpkin related festivities!

It was bound to happen at some point, right? The inevitable 'I'm a blogger, with a toddler, who's pretty basic' pumpkin post! Not sorry ;)

We made our way out to Santa's Christmas Tree Farm (which is a Pumpkin Patch in October, in case you're confused) on Sunday for a couple hours of Fall fun!
The farm offers so many fun things for the kids to do including hay rides, a huge bounce pillow, a zip line and pony rides.  We arrived right when they opened at 10am, which worked out perfect because by the time we were leaving around noon, it was absolutely packed!

I love this picture so much! It was right before we left, right in the middle of what was supposed to be nap time, post popsicle, mid hayride and little miss was having the time of her life. I love creating these memories with her :)

Monday, after school we promised Abigail a pumpkin carving/painting party with a special Halloween treat and we did just that!
We set up a bunch of paint pots on the patio and let Abigail go to town on her mini pumpkin while Billy & I prepped the large pumpkin to carve. It ended up working well because Abigail was distracted while we did the gutting and carving ;)

Because all other candy corn is just gross.

Olaf has seen better days and he's missing his eyes, but Abigail loves him.
That's what counts, right?!

Mid painting, Abigail looked up at me and said 'mama, I'm having so much fun! I'm so happy!' and then I cried into a target bag of pumpkin guts.
Happy Tuesday, friends!
XO!

'I love you, Mickey!!'

Anyone else feel like one minute you're sitting at your desk on Friday, counting down the minutes...you blink...and then you're back at it Monday morning?!
 Me, this weekend.
Maybe it has something to do with it being a totally great weekend...&/or work totally kicking my ass and consuming my life right now, but I wasn't anywhere near ready for it to end.

We have been having some serious issues with our air conditioning unit for the past week. We had someone come out to repair it last Friday, so you can imagine my thrilling attitude when I walked into my house this past Thursday to a sauna again. I spent most of Friday trying to get someone out to my house again, buying fans and working from home in an 86 degree hell hole until a repair man got there. And spoiler alert; they never showed up!
My brother in law ended up coming over to mess with it and got it blowing cold air, while we anxiously awaited Mr. fix it to show up Saturday morning.

We kept things pretty light all day on Saturday. Had a dance party before nap time, decorated for Fall a bit during nap time and had an epic 'dump out all the toys and get rid of the junk' party after nap time ;)

We surprised Abigail on Sunday & took her to the Magic Kingdom and my heart could have burst from her happiness. This was her 4th trip since birth, but without a doubt this was her favorite.
We have season passes but have been avoiding going because of the heat and crowds but Sunday wasn't too bad. We got there around 11am, had fast passes for The Little Mermaid, Dumbo and meeting Mickey, had lunch, saw a parade and were out of the park by 2:30pm. Just in time for Abigail to pass out harder than I've seen in a while. Drool puddles & all ;)

Like I said, we prepared ahead of time and got fast passes for a few things. We actually ended up letting Abigail go on Dumbo twice, once with Billy and once with me, which she was so, so excited about!
As we were getting ready to leave the park, we stopped off for a bathroom break and ended up in the right place at the right time because as we were coming out, we ended up front and center for one of the parades where ALL the characters were present. Abigail flipped her shit!
We also found out that Goofy is officially her favorite, based on the photo below and the ear piercing screech that accompanied that jaw drop ;) it seriously made dealing with all the tourists 92% worth it!

We had a 1:20 meeting with Mickey on the books and I honestly didn't know how it was going to go. She's met him once before and wanted nothing to do with it but I was hopeful!
When we walked into the room and saw him, she immediately screamed 'Mickey! I love you!!'. It was perfect! She still wouldn't touch him, but she talked to him, told him he was her best friend and was a total giggle fest when he talked to her.

We ended our day with full hearts and chocolate kisses.

It was back to the grind bright and early Monday morning, but we have air and pumpkin carving plans this week, so it isn't all that bad ;)

Abigail's Back to School Photos

Abigail officially started preschool this August! Technically she has been in the preschool room at school for a bit longer than that, but during the summer they focus more on fun activities than curriculum.
She absolutely loves school and it seriously blows our minds what she knows, how much she learns and the things that come out of her mouth. Just tonight, as we were putting her to bed and going through her regular nighttime routine of reading her 3 favorite books in bed, she decided she wanted to read them instead and actually recited every word from all 3 books! And when we went to sing her her bedtime songs, she told us she would rather just go to sleep. Um, what?! Where O where did my little girl go?!

Anyways, along with the new school year comes a new batch of photos!
If you recall, her school brings in a professional photographer several times a year for photos and I just can't pass up the chance to scoop them up each time!

Here are her previous photo sessions:

And here are her Back to School photos for this year!
I love them so much and think it's impossible to pick a favorite... what do you think?! :)
