Freshly Picked - Black Tuesday Sale!

I'm so excited to tell you guys about this sale!

Freshly Picked is quite possibly my favorite toddler brand out there. We got our first pair of moccs when Abigail was a little under a year old. She practically learned to walk in them and they are my absolute favorite keepsake we have because her little toe imprints are permanently on the bottom of the soles.
Cue the ugly sobs from going back to find these pictures of my little bitty lady.

We just got the Geo Rose moccs from the Ayesha Curry Collection and to say they are gorgeous would be an understatement. I love that we have a shoe that Abigail can wear when we are just lounging around the house or playing in the yard without having to put on bulky sneakers.
(Photo quality courtesy of a three year who wanted nothing to do with getting her photo taken)

So let's talk the sale. Freshly Picked doesn't do this often (only twice a year!), but today ONLY their ENTIRE SITE is 25% off! The sale starts at 10am MST (RIGHT NOW! GO, GO, GO!) and only lasts for 24 hours, so you need to act fast! BUT, the good news is, I promise you won't be disappointed!

If you snag some, let me know which ones!
Happy Shopping, friends!

I did receive these moccasins in exchange for this review/sale alert however, all opinions are my own (they really are THE BEST!).

Abigail's First Haircut!

It took me three and a half years to take my girl to get her first haircut.
Sometimes I feel like I hold on to sentimental value of weird things. When my sister found out years ago that she was having her first girl, I didn't hesitate to give her everything I had accumulated for Abigail that we didn't need anymore. I didn't hold on to really anything. But when she asked if she could borrow our crib, I told her no. I didn't want to part with it (even if it was just to borrow) and I didn't want anyone else sleeping in it. It meant too much to me (before you judge me for sounding selfish, she has literally NEVER bought that child an item of clothing because of all of Abigail's stuff, so she's doing ok ;) ).
I felt the same way with Abigail's hair. I did. not. want. to get. it. cut.
I don't even have a reason why. It just seemed like such a big milestone that I wasn't ready for. I'm so glad we waited until we were both ready, but goodness was it over due!
Her 'before' hair started to get really scraggly and wasn't growing at an even length. She had so many baby hairs still that when we walked into the salon, the check in person didn't even have to ask if it was her first haircut, she just knew!

We didn't know how she would do with letting someone cut her hair. I was relating it in my head to the same experience we have at the doctor or dentist office - which is absolute hell for all of us. BUT, she was SO excited and did better than I could have ever imagined. Even the sweet lady cutting her hair kept saying how good she was!

I took SO many pictures, here are a few...

She got to pick the car to sit in and the movie to watch :)

The first cut!!
They saved this lock of hair for me and gave me a certificate to put a picture in.

She sat like this the whole time. With a little smirk on her face. I think she felt like such a big girl. She loved every minute of it!

The nice lady doing her hair asked me if she thought Abigail would be ok with the blow dryer because most kids freak out at the sound. Abigail is always in the bathroom with me when I'm getting ready for the day and whenever I turn the blow dryer on, she asks me to do her hair too, so I knew she would be totally fine :)

She picked her purple bow.
I love the side eye she's giving!

All done & all smiles!

I took these two pictures the next day. She still has a lot of baby hair in the front (I had her bangs pinned back because until those grow out completely, they'll continue to just fall in her eyes) but the back is SUCH A DIFFERENCE! It's all straight and one length across and I don't know what it is, but it makes her seem like a completely different kid. She looks so much older! It makes me so sad, but so happy when she walks around the house, using her hand to flick her hair from under her neck asking people if they love her haircut.

Ferris Wheels, Dance Parties & Shots. -- Life Lately.

We've been trying to fit all the things into our days lately and it has been oh so fun!
Here's a look at what's been going on...

Her room always ends up being my favorite. I love sneaking in before she is up from her nap and crawling into bed with her to cuddle. I love that she still sleeps in footie PJ's and typically only asks for them when she's extra tired because they make her feel 'nice and cozy'. And I love that on this day, before she went down for her nap, she told me that I was her best friend.

With Billy switching jobs a couple month back, the schedule we came to become quite used to and fond of was uprooted and we've had to adjust to him working different hours. On this day, that meant driving the 45 minutes to Orlando's I-Drive to go spend some time with him at his store. It was a Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful out so after Abigail and I had lunch with him, her and I found some ice cream and hung out in the grassy courtyard in front of the Orlando Eye. We ended up staying there people watching, Ferris wheel watching and dancing for almost two hours. I hope she remembers this day when she's older because it was one of my favorites.

She love, love, lovesss practicing her dancing (our neighbors probably don't though). I mean, look at that form! ;)

I posted this on my Facebook but wanted to share it here too because I think it's so funny. Last weekend, my family decided to go through my parents garage. We all got to take home lots of pretty collectibles for our houses, but some of the most cherished things I took home were things from my childhood. My mom kept a lot of my school work (including all the A++ report cards ;) ) and while sifting through the box, I found this:
I had it all figured out, guys. #nosmoking
When Billy saw this he said 'I love that you can feel your anxiety coming through the page with all of your under control and nice and neat comments'. HA!

Abigail brought home a new pair of bongos from the clean out!

We made cupcakes for a week of good behavior at school! Billy taught Abigail how to crack an egg and i taught her how to lick the beaters ;)

Target Holiday clearance might actually be more thrilling than the actual holiday. I scored this Monkey suit for $2! Not pictured: a $2 Olaf costume and loads of decorations for next year for next to nothing!

You know you're in your 30's when you're no longer taking shots at the club at 1am, but taking wheatgrass shots at the Saturday morning Farmer's Market together.

That's life lately!
We took Abigail to get her very first haircut yesterday! I thought that deserved a post to itself because I took about 287 pictures and possibly shed a tear.
And yes, if you're doing the math, that's three and a half years without a haircut. Judge away!

Our Halloween 2016

Posting about our Halloween only 8 days after the actual day, not bad guys. Not bad at all. Since so many of you are probably so interested (insert sarcastic eye roll here) we'll keep things niiiiice and short.

Abigail wanted to be a witch for Halloween this year. We settled on a 'good' witch. We got super creative with her costume and went to Walmart and bought one straight from the package. DIY goals, ya'll! I did add an extra tutu underneath to add a little more volume, though.

Halloween started the Saturday before, for us, with a Spooktacular in the park. Bounce houses, trick or treating, fire trucks; Abigail had the best time!

On Monday (Halloween) at school Abigail had a parade, fall festival & trunk or treat to go to! After we finished up all the school activities, we headed to dinner with friends and went straight to my sisters neighborhood to go trick or treating.

Halloween is such a busy holiday when you're a parent. We crashed hard that night (and are possibly still recovering) but seeing how happy Abigail was, running (or being pulled in a wagon by her Uncle - Hey Joe! You're still THE. BEST.) makes it all worth it!

I have another exciting post from GlassesShop.com for you guys today and this time, it includes prescription glasses!
As a refresher, GlassesShop.com offers eyeglasses online for anyone looking to update their look. If you remember, I received a pair of sunglasses a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love them!
This time, I opted for prescription glasses that I would be able to wear everyday. I knew the general style I wanted to go with and am very, very happy with how they turned out.
They showed up in a nice case with an extra large cleaning cloth. They are durable, stylish and fit nicely. I do have to get them adjusted around the nose though; this style is a bit tight, but I feel like that would vary from person to person depending on the shape of your nose, so it may not be like that for everyone :)

After I received these glasses, I actually went on their website and ordered this exact pair of glasses, in prescription sunglasses and can't wait for them to get here!

Remember, if you want to purchase your own pair, use code GSHOT50 at checkout for 50% off!

**While the glasses in this post were given to me at no cost, all opinions are my own. & the prescription sunglasses on the way to me were purchased on my own, so you know they're good ;)
